
Reinhardt was hospitalized last week with an infection, and by Sunday, he had been moved to intensive care. According to the Patch, he was placed on life support but taken off a short time later, possibly in accordance with the terms of a living will.
A native of Bradenton, Fla., Reinhardt joined Iron Butterfly in 1970, some three years after the band released its most famous tune, 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda.' Alongside fellow axeman Mike Pinera, he replaced guitarist Erik Brann and played on one album, 'Metamorphosis.'
